Here is information outlining the process involved in commissioning a portrait. It is not set in stone but does give you an idea what to expect.

Initial Consultations
Please contact me and tell me your ideas for your portrait. Ask me should you have questions about anything. We will look at what size and which paint or drawing materials you would like. Once we have a solid idea for the portrait, I will give you a quote for the finished portrait (excluding travel, framing and postage costs). You are also welcome to meet with me to view original samples and photographs of work in my portfolio. At the same time we can discuss together ideas for your portrait.

Meeting the Sitter / Working from Your Photograph
I will then need to meet the sitter (by ‘sitter’ I mean the person or pet who will be in the portrait) or work from a photograph that you send me. Should I meet the sitter, I will take photographs and do some drawings of them in suitable surroundings. This gives me the opportunity to get to know the person and gather appropriate information for the portrait. It does not have to be formal, it is good for it to be as relaxed as possible!

Sittings / Working from Photographs
The sitter will sit in front of the artist for a few hours at a time whilst the artist works on the portrait. We can arrange times for these as and when it is convenient for you.

Completing the Portrait
Once the portrait is completed, it is important that the person receiving it is happy with it. Therefore they will need to look at it or view an emailed photograph of the portrait, and to let me know of any changes they would like made. Framing can take 1-2 weeks should you want it framed.

Collection
On completion you may pick up the work from Chessington, Surrey. Alternatively I can bring you the portrait, or it can be posted to you.
